Top 10 Movies of 2017

2017 was a great year for #WorkHardPlayHarderTO that had great movies we took in. Here are my "Top 10 Movies of 2017" from the ones we saw.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS: 1) John Wick 2 2) Fate of the Furious

10) Logan

GOOD: Allowed fans to see more transition happening in the XMEN Universe; between characters we knew to characters we are about to get to know alot better in the coming years in new movies.

BAD: There were no scenes to show us what happened to all the other X-Men
UGLY: Good Wolverine VS. Bad Wolverine was not done well. (i.e. the CGI was off!)

9) XXX: The Return of Xander Cage

GOOD: Nice to see Vin Diesel back in this role with a great supporting cast
BAD: They could have involved Ice Cube's character alot more and in a better way then they did
UGLY: Vin Diesel land surfing in his 40's is not a good look

8) Wonder Woman

GOOD: Great 1st time introduction of DC's iconic female character on the big screen
BAD: The villians were very weak & not convincing
UGLY: Too much of the feminist agenda, the closing scene seemed a bit too cartoonish to me.

7) Kingsmen: The Golden Circle

GOOD: Great follow up to the first movie, looking forward to the third installment
BAD: The American version of Kingsmen was not needed for the story to progress
UGLY: The scene with the human meat hamburgers was not needed

6) Atomic Blonde

GOOD: Charlize Theron reminded me why she is one of my favourite actresses
BAD: James MacAvoy was not good in this role
UGLY: This is the Black Widow (Marvel) movie we should have got years ago!

5) Valerian

GOOD: Loved the plot, action and visuals all the way through the movie

BAD: The pooping of the pearls was not necessary 

UGLY: The two lead actors were horrible on their delivery of their lines

4) Spider-Man: Home Coming

GOOD: Great acting & chemistry by Tom Holland and Michael Keaton

BAD: Title of the movie, Peter Parker in High School and so young is not my version of the character

UGLY: It was obvious they were trying to make this movie connect to past and future movies 

3) Star Wars: The Last Jedi

GOOD: Great performances by Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill

BAD: They should not have killed off Luke Skywalker (i.e. more light saber battles with Kylo Ren)

UGLY: They had 2 opportunities to kill off Laia and they didn't use them!

2) War for the Planet of the Apes

GOOD: Solid movie that caps off an amazing trilogy. My new favourite movie trilogy!
BAD/UGLY: There was not enough explaination as to details between movies.

1) Kong: Skull Island

GOOD: This movie delivered. It was my most anticiapted movie for the year. I was so impressed.
BAD/UGLY: There were too many people in the cast which didn't leave enough screen time for all.
